The gastrointestinal microbiome is often called the new frontier of medicine. A growing body of research is suggesting that there are few disease conditions that are not influenced by the composition of this ecosystem! Thus, it is vital for clinicians to be well-versed and knowledgeable in this area in order to provide optimal care to their patients. This course will give practitioners a thorough foundation and in-depth knowledge of the gastrointestinal microbiota and how to modify its composition to treat a wide range of health conditions. On completion of this ten-week course, practitioners will become Certified Microbiome Analysts, which will help potential patients identify you as a clinician who has done extensive post-graduate training in this new and exciting area and as being assured in the fields of microbiome assessment, interpretation, and modification.
Go Beyond the Basics and Bust some Myths!
This is a bridging course for those health professionals who do not have (or want) a key gastrointestinal disease focus in their practices, but are keen to delve deeply into the emerging science of the gastrointestinal microbiome, learn advanced approaches and techniques to positively modulate this ecosystem, and want to become Certified Microbiome Analysts. It is also for those who want to study our Early Life course - again for those who do not have (or want), a key gastrointestinal disease focus, in their practices. Historically, our Advanced Microbiome Manipulation (and Early Life) courses have only been open to those students who completed our prerequisite course - Naturopathic & Functional Medicine Approaches to Gastrointestinal Disorders. However, due to an overwhelming number of requests from practitioners who do not have (or want) a gut-focused practice, we've opened up another pathway for entry into the Advanced Microbiome Manipulation & Early Life courses.
